1/25/2010 -Birthday In review

SO....as I left work on Friday my co-workers questioned my B-day plans....

"SLEEP IN" was my reply! Both of them knowing me fairly well bet against that...they said it wouldn't happen.

And....it didn't!

Friend Connie called on Friday night and asked if I wanted to go to San Marcos to drop of her filly. San Marcos huh? See my Cas huh? OF COURSE I wanna go!

So, alarm woke me up grumpily at 5 am. had to be at C's by 7...so that meant leaving the house by 6...And, I did. I thought about calling C on the way there, but I knew she was as excited to go as I was and figured she'd be ready and waiting! I should have known better! I pulled in, radio blaring and the whole house was dark! Should I have been surprised? Heck no! Was I, a bit! I started getting my stuff together and C walked out onto the porch in her PJ's to apologize for not being up and ready.
So, about 25 mins later we are starting the truck and making sure all systems are go. Fed her critters and headed down the road to pick up the filly.

Departure time planned - 7:30
Actual departure time - 8:15
So...45 mins late.

An uneventful trip lead us to Nelson's at about 10:30/10:45. One bit stop at the GOOD Buc-ee's on 183 that does have sunscreen by the way!

Hannah was excited to see us pull in. Jumped out of the truck and ran over to give big hugs!!
C unloaded her filly and I ran up to the main barn to see my Casper. CAS! What a mess! He's such a handsome man! And getting more handsome every day! Love him!

Mary was out working another horse, so while I was waiting for her to get done I tired on Cas' new sheet. It is NOT pink, I'm happy to announce! it's a deep green/blue and chocolate. Looks very handsome on him! He ended up with the 84 and not the 82 as planned.

Mary snuck up on us in the middle of the process and expressed she liked the sheet on him! YAY! More hugs between handing carrots to Cas.

Headed up to the house for a few mins to give her new PUPPY a bottle (long story) while C and Hannah got the filly settled in.

Here are some pics from Cas' work out.

He was a pretty ok boy. Towards the end the flies (yes, believe it or not flies in south Texas in the middle of winter) were biting him and I didn't want to get on with out having sprayed him down as I'd have for one of those little buggers to really take a bite out of him and for him to throw a fit....so...I declined to ride, hoping for the chance this weekend. (side note, I don't think the weather is going to co-operate!)

Hugs, Hugs, HUGS again and back home we headed.

C wanted to stop in Cuero at the local saddle shop to drop her saddle off for some repair. Getting a later start than planned I called and canceled a hair cut I'd scheduled between the San Marcos adventure and B day dinner with Jen Saddle shop ended up fixing saddle while we waited - which took about 45 mins but saved C the hour drive back to pick it up.

DH calls on the way home....just outside of Victoria....

He asks "when you put my stuff in the truck this morning why did you lock it?"

"Why did I lock it? I always lock it!"

We do live out in the country but our neighbor brings home women of questionable ethics and morals....so...I lock up what I can.
Let's just sum that up to say..DH left his keys in truck! Something he NEVER does. I have the spare set and am oh....an hour plus away from the house! Poor DH was SOL cause I had plans all evening. He wasn't feeling well anyway, so it gave him a good reason to miss school.

Dinner scheduled with Jen @ 6:30......gave me time to do something I'd been meaning to do for weeks.

I took a slight (10 minute) detour and went out to visit Megan's grave. I hadn't been out there since the service 3 plus months ago. Figured my birthday was a good time to take the time and go out there because it was something I needed to do. I left a purple rose next to the plastic appaloosa pony someone else had put there. I babbled to her about this and that.....a few stray tears fell......I said my good bye's and walked back to the car.
I was ok......no blubbering, balling break down....I was good.....
I figured I'd stop on the way back to town at the accident site and see if the cross we had made had gotten put back up. The mowing guys had taken it down to mow.... yup, someone put it back up...
I made a u turn and headed for dinner......and I was fine....
AND THEN.....
I turned on the radio as I turned the corner and the song a few posts down by Nickelback came on and after the first few lines of "My best friend gave me the best advice
He said each day's a gift and not a given right" I lost it. Enter blubbering idiot. I thought I was going to have to pull over.......but got it together by the end of the song..
"OK" I kept telling myself....you are fine. No big deal (except it is a big deal, loosing someone you love) go to dinner with Jen and have a good time.... and I was OK. Composed myself....
AND THEN.....
I get a mushy "you are my friend and I care about you and friends are like balloons don't let them go" text from Megan's boyfriend and..... yup, you guessed it...I lost it again.
What the heck is wrong with me? I don't cry. I'm not an emotional person in that way. Oh yeah, I'll get mad...but I don't turn into a blubbering idiot and cry. Definitely not in front of other people....so thank goodness I was alone.....

I did make it to dinner with Jen. We ate Chinese. It was yummy! Her and her SO picked out some GREAT gifts for me, which I enjoy a whole heck of a lot! I wore the necklace and earrings 2x this week! They go with many of the clothes that I have. Which is nice. The two nice smelling candles are in the house...not lit yet...but smell amazing! Good job goes out to her SO who apparently picked out the necklace and earrings....great job, I LOVE them!

I drove home, after 2 stops to get DH some meds and cough drops....it was a long day. I was exhausted, emotionally more than anything...but I was happy. It was a good day.

GIRLZ DAY!

B and I decided a good girls morning was in order.
On the agenda?
Good Food (comfort type food) - Some Shopping - some gossiping (NEVER!) and a trip to mom's to pick up her daughter.
Picked up B @ 9:30....and headed to...IHOP of course! What better place for some feel good, taste great breakfast food than IHOP? It was YUMMY!
Then, off to Ross for a bit of BARGAIN hunting!
Tried on TONS of clothes.......I found 2 shirts I fell in LOVE with (got same shirt in 2 different colors) and some KICK BUTT sunglasses that are way out of character for me but I'm loving them.
B found a cute dress, and 2 pairs of jeans that fit her, not me. I was bummed about that b/c I really needed some new jeans!
I swear we spent 2 hours plus looking for and trying on clothes! Love shopping with B...she's a blast! And, we a both full figured ladies, so it's nice to shop with someone who just can't grab something off the rack and it fits and looks like
Headed over the Bealls - I was on the hunt for some new shoes...work appropriate shoes.
Found a NICE pair of shoes for $26.00 - and a couple sets of ear rings and a new necklace
Went to B's mom's and picked up her kiddo as it was getting late and I was instructed to be home around 4!
Dropped off my passengers and home I went after a trip into HEB to get a few 'items' DH forgot.
Arrived home to find (see below).
How sweet huh? Birthday Bubble Bath! Awesome!

DH is fighting a cold or something and even though I offered to 'postpone' any plans till he felt better he insisted!
Then, when I got out of the bath, I was served this....!

WOW! Super Yummy dinner! :)
OK....new something had to be up, right? I mean, I know it was my bday and all...but...this was still a bit much....
DH says...."ummmmm we had a casualty earlier. "
"oh" I said, "what happened?"
"well" DH said, "it was dumb dumb"
- side noteb - DUMB DUMB aka Duke is a big teddy bear of a yellow lab that we picked up in the middle of the road almost a year ago with a bum leg. Dumb Dumb is a very young ( I will get a picture so you can SEE him, and understand his name) very hyper, very large (100 lbs plus) yellow lab. Nothing bothers him, nothing phases him, he goes where he wants to because he can. He can bulldoze the furniture on the living room and he loves to jump up on the kitchen counter to see what's going on up there.
Apparently DH had all 4 dogs, yes 4 inside dogs running around loose while I was out on my morning adventure. He, I guess wasn't paying attention to dumb dumb who did this to my FAV flip flops before he could take them away.
See the little rip?

And if that wasn't enough, DH didn't think to pick up the other flip flop.....and dumb dumb struck again....doing this.

So.....what a crazy day, huh???

Sombre Saturday

Friday night, VERY late I learned that there was going to be a blood drive in memory of my friend Megan Saturday @ Dale's Fun Center in Victoria, Texas.

So, early Saturday AM I got up and sent out a massive TXT to everyone in the area I knew, hoping to assist in a large turn out.

DH and I headed over around 9:30.
Arrived just after 10 to find the 'bus' ready for us.

I had never given blood before, so it was in interesting experience. Last time I tried, I was told my Iron was too low.

This time however, after a few pages of paperwork and a bit of a wait, my finger was pricked and my blood tested and VIOLA, my blood was ok!
Then, more waiting for a recliner........then it was my turn. The recliner I got put my left arm out for the tech to draw my blood. NO GO. Nope. Left arm didn't want to co-operate! So, off to the front of the bus I went to wait for a recliner that would allow my right arm to be on the correct side.
Friend Connie showed up, and Mandy. THANKS GUYS!
Ahhhh....now a right armed recliner was free! My turn!
My "tech" (I'm not sure what they are but I'm sure they have to have some kind of license) Pete was GREAT! My vein was a bit hard to locate, but she found it and after a few moments to assist the person in the recliner across from me we were in business.
I admit, I was a little worried. That needle was HUGE! Like the ones I poke the horses with when shots are needed for antibiotics! Not something that should be going in a human arm!! I Turned my head....squeezed my eyes together and tried to think of anything other than the huge needle that was going to poke me......
I have to honestly say I didn't feel a thing! She did a great job! Amazing! I hope I get her again when I give blood! It was sad, the reason why we were all there.....but we hope that out of the sadness comes some happiness for the people and their families that our blood donations will help. I'll post when I find out how much was collected, and what type of blood I have!

*UPDATE 31 PINTS OF BLOOD WERE COLLECTED! YAY!

I was a quick bleeder and was out of the chair in no time!
Some snacks, a chat with Megan's friend and family and we were on our way home.

DH's friend M and his gf and son were on their way over to help DH figure out why our trailer lights were not working.

Throw in a side trip to help 2 older ladies fix a flat tire - their lug nut taker offer (technical term I know) didn't fit their lug nuts so luckily another gentleman stopped by and had a 4 way (we have one in truck but not car) and the tire was changed, we followed the ladies to the nearest gas station and DH aired up their tires and we sent them on their way!

Arrived at home with M and co and tow......
Boys spent much time and most of trailer lights are fixed. Inside lights and breaks *gasp* aren't working right yet...but we think it's a truck wiring thing....
Poor M and Co didn't leave till 11pm and had an hour drive home! Big thanks to M for all his help and for his family for allowing him to be so helpful!

Next posts include a Sunday GIRLZ day, my DH's birthday surprise, a trip to see Casper, a balling my eyes out session, a bday dinner with a great friend, and the shoes dumb dumb terrorized!

Song To Live By - What do you think?

"If Today Was Your Last Day"
My best friend gave me the best advice
He said each day's a gift and not a given right
Leave no stone unturned, leave your fears behind
And try to take the path less traveled by
That first step you take is the longest stride
If today was your last day
And tomorrow was too late
Could you say goodbye to yesterday?
Would you live each moment like your last?
Leave old pictures in the past
Donate every dime you have?
If today was your last day
Against the grain should be a way of life
What's worth the prize is always worth the fight
Every second counts 'cause there's no second try
So live like you'll never live it twice
Don't take the free ride in your own life
If today was your last day
And tomorrow was too late
Could you say goodbye to yesterday?
Would you live each moment like your last?
Leave old pictures in the past
Donate every dime you have?
Would you call old friends you never see?
Reminisce old memories
Would you forgive your enemies?
Would you find that one you're dreamin' of?
Swear up and down to God above
That you finally fall in love
If today was your last day
If today was your last day
Would you make your mark by mending a broken heart?
You know it's never too late to shoot for the stars
Regardless of who you are
So do whatever it takes
'Cause you can't rewind a moment in this life
Let nothin' stand in your way
Cause the hands of time are never on your side
If today was your last day
And tomorrow was too late
Could you say goodbye to yesterday?
Would you live each moment like your last?
Leave old pictures in the past
Donate every dime you have?
Would you call old friends you never see?
Reminisce old memories
Would you forgive your enemies?
Would you find that one you're dreamin' of?
Swear up and down to God above
That you finally fall in love
If today was your last day

Too Busy for a Friend?
One day a teacher asked her students to list the names of the other students in the room on two sheets of paper, leaving a space between each name.
Then she told them to think of the nicest thing they could say about each of their classmates and write it down. I
t took the remainder of the class period to finish their assignment, and as the students left the room, each one handed in the papers.
That Saturday, the teacher wrote down the name of each student on a separate sheet of paper, and listed what everyone else had said about that individual. On Monday she gave each student his or her list.
Before long, the entire class was smiling. "Really?" she heard whispered. "I never knew that I meant anything to anyone!" and, "I didn't know others liked me so much," were most of the comments.
No one ever mentioned those papers in class again. She never knew if they discussed them after class or with their parents, but it didn't matter. The exercise had accomplished its purpose. The students were happy with themselves and one another. That group of students moved on..
Several years later, one of the students was killed in Vietnam and his teacher attended the funeral of that special student. She had never seen a serviceman in a military coffin before. He looked so handsome, so mature.
The church was packed with his friends. One by one those who loved him took a last walk by the coffin. The teacher was the last one to bless the coffin.
As she stood there, one of the soldiers who acted as pallbearer came up to her. "Were you Mark's math teacher?" he asked. She nodded: "yes." Then he said: "Mark talked about you a lot." After the funeral, most of Mark's former classmates went together to a luncheon.
Mark's mother and father were there, obviously waiting to speak with his teacher. "We want to show you something," his father said, taking a wallet out of his pocket "They found this on Mark when he was killed. We thought you might recognize it."
Opening the billfold, he carefully removed two worn pieces of notebook paper that had obviously been taped, folded and refolded many times. The teacher knew without looking that the papers were the ones on which she had listed all the good things each of Mark's classmates had said about him.. "Thank you so much for doing that," Mark's mother said. "As you can see, Mark treasured it."
All of Mark's former classmates started to gather around.
Charlie smiled rather sheepishly and said, "I still have my list. It's in the top drawer of my desk at home."
Chuck's wife said, "Chuck asked me to put his in our wedding album.."
"I have mine too," Marilyn said. "It's in my diary"
Then Vicki, another classmate, reached into her pocketbook, took out her wallet and showed her worn and frazzled list to the group. "I carry this with me at all times," Vicki said and without batting an eyelash, she continued: "I think we all saved our lists"
That's when the teacher finally sat down and cried. She cried for Mark and for all his friends who would never see him again.
The density of people in society is so thick that we forget that life will end one day. And we don't know when that one day will be. So please, tell the people you love and care for, that they are special and important. Tell them, before it is too late.
And One Way To Accomplish This Is: Forward this message on. If you do not send it, you will have passed up the wonderful opportunity to do something nice and beautiful. If you've received this, it is because someone cares for you and it means there is probably at least someone for whom you care.
If you're "too busy" to take those few minutes right now to forward this message on, would this be the VERY first time you didn't do that little thing that would make a difference in your relationships? The more people that you send this to, the better you'll be at reaching out to those you care about. Remember, you reap what you sow. What you put into the lives of others comes back into your own.
May Your Day Be Blessed As Special As You Are

Waco Force Field Explained

It appears that, for what ever reason, the City of Waco has installed a force field that blocks phone usage. That's right folks, NO calls go IN, and NO calls go OUT. Land line and cellular. Not quite sure how they have managed this, but it's true.

When people get with in a 50 mile radius of the wonderful city their phones to not work. You can't even text. Email function is disabled also. It's very sad.

Energy shields usually work by absorbing or dissipating energy. prolonged exposure to such energy weakens the shield and eventually results in the shield's collapse, making the phone systems work again on a limited basis until the shield is repaired. Calls that are able to seep through do so during the time with the shield is at it's weakest.

In addition the shields function in an unexplained manner and serve as a primary protection against weapons fire from enemy vehicles; these shields also generally block the use of transporters while active. Also, inside vehicles, force field generators can seal off vehicle atmosphere from the vacuum of space, as in the case of a hull breach caused by an attack or explosion.

So you see, while there is a down side to the shield (no phone usage) there is an upside as well (your ship, oops I mean VEHICLE is safe from interstellar attack!)

Come on, you KNOW you are LAUGHING your BUTT OFF!

Not 5 STAR Gourmet, but DAMN good!

Driving home last night...didn't know what to make for dinner. DH said "do something with that hamburger sittin there before it goes bad".
I replied "ok, but burgers are out because they are better on the grill and I don't mess with that thing!"
He said "ok".

SO....thinking thinking....hummm...what to make that won't take forever...."I Know, I'll call mom...she'll know what to make!"

One Ringy Dingy
Two Ringy Dingy
Three Ringy Dingy
Four Ringy Dingy
"Hello...."
"Hay mom I"
Interrupted by "this is Cathy, leave your name and number and I'll call you back"
DRAT....voice mail. " Hay mom, just me....give me a call back when you get a sec, Love ya, bye."
How dare she not be around to answer my call.....what the heck?

SO.....I continued to ponder all the way home.
DH loves enchiladas - me, not so much
I Improvise!

Took 1 1/2 lbs hamburger meat - Brown/Season to taste and set aside
one can re fried beans
1 package of Spanish rice (make according to directions and set aside)
about 5 c crushed tortilla chips
5 flour tortillas
Jar picante sauce
Bag shredded cheese
1 9 x 14 baking pan (glass)

Grease/Spray pan
Preheat over to 300

Layer pan with
Tortilla Chips
Meat
Rice
Beans
Cheese
Picante

Till all done. on top put flour tortillas - cut in 1/2 so they make a 1/2 moon shape - place "flat" side against side of pan
Top tortillas with cheese and picante as well - heat in oven and serve
Viola - Mexican Casserole
Tastes Great! Rave Reviews from DH - only thing missing is 'something' to keep it from being quite so dry...other than that....kick butt yummy!

Lemme know if you try it.....YUM!

P.S. - Mom did call back and offer me a meatloaf idea....but my Mexican Casserole was already in the oven! Thanks MoM!

1/18/10 Monday

Being it was MLK JR day, I had the day off from my regular job! YAY!

That's the good news.

Bad news - DH's school schedule messed up our weekend plans

Woke up a bit late (sorry Steph) and headed out to Aransas Pass after feeding the crew and making breakfast.

Arrived in Aransas Pass just after 10. Had a nice chat with Steph - Found out she was in an accident just after Thanksgiving about 2 weeks ago -
Got hit from behind by a little bitty car going over 100 MPH. She was in her big GMC 2500 and had their BRAND NEW horse trailer behind. She was headed to the trainer's to pick up one of their horses. Thank goodness she was on the way there, and not on the way back.
Just outside of Victoria on 77 she got rear ended by the driver of the car who'd fallen asleep.
Totaled the truck and trailer. The only place on the top of the truck not smashed in from flipping numerous times was the driver seat, where she was sitting. SO, so, SO lucky to be here today.
I told her "Steph, if you wanted a new truck all you had to do was say so" She's now driving around in a 2009 Chevy 2500 - it's GORGEOUS!

Trimmed 8 of her 10 head, and then headed to Victoria for one short stop (2 head) and then it was on to the house.
Long weekend - but lots of work - didn't feel like a long weekend....too much stuff to do!

1/17/10 - Sunday

Got stuck with our normal Saturday horse trimming/shoeing getting moved to Sunday b/c of DH's hand to hand combat/beat the tar out of each other training on Saturday.

Got up EARLY and headed to Port O'Connor - Left the house at 6:30
Made a few stops and then headed to Seadrift for lunch.
There is this (not so nice looking) place on the bay front that has the BEST BURGERS and FF's around...so, we stopped there before heading into Port Lavaca.
Last stop was at 5pm, headed home around 5:30

An uneventful day ( I love uneventful Horse Days)
Went to bed early - I have Monday off from regular job - but, DH school stuff messed up WHOLE LONG WEEKEND - Sunday trip to Aransas Pass got scheduled on Monday -
Getting up early in the morning to head out!

1/16/10 - Saturday

Saturday oh Saturday.

The rains came on Thursday and Friday, and it was still cold and raining Saturday am. Jen and I had planned on a bath and clip for Ransom (for his TV debut). HOWEVER, the weather was not for co-operating so we met a bit later in the AM for wardrobe planning. HorseMaster is PICKY about clothing (seeing some of the shows I'd think not so much, but they have RULES). So, we found a couple shirts that met the criteria and headed to town for lunch and shopping.

T-Shirt of the Day found this while shopping....LOL

THEN, I drug Jen kicking and screaming through Target to pick out (ehhhhgads) Make-Up. Yes, make-up. Jen doesn't normally partake in this feminine activity (neither do I so much) so this was like pulling teeth! We found a few little things that she needed and headed home.

Upon leaving Target we found that the weather had broke and the sun was out. We raced home to bath Ransom and showered him with LaserSheen to make Jen's clipping job (now scheduled for Sunday post Church and lunch w/boy) a bit easier.

Picked up DH from school - yes, he had school on Saturday which threw one heck of a monkey wrench in our normal Saturday plans. Went back to Jen's and enjoyed a good meal and great company. The boys were in rare form, bantering back and forth - we tried to spare them the horrible poisoned dessert I'd picked out....but they toughed it out crammed it down their throats anyway. Way to go boys!

BURRRRRRRRRRRR 1/7/10 - 1/10/10

Lemme re-cap the past few days!

Date - high/low DAY

1/11/10 - 61/40 TODAY
1/10/10 - 49/22 SUNDAY
1/9/10 - 44/17 SATURDAY
1/8/10 - 34/24 FRIDAY
1/7/10 - 60/31 THURSDAY

Lemme start with 1/7/10 .....was pretty darn cold! Going from 60 during the day to 31 at night...HOLLY BURRRRRR
1/8/10 - Woke up Fri am and it was down right chilly! The LOW from Thursday was only 3 degrees more than the HIGH for FRIDAY. WOW! Where do I live?
Jen offered a place for our not so cold weather loving Chewie....so off he went for the week to stay warm! :0) My hubby loaded him up when we got the ok and hauled him over....and apparently helped with some last minute details and headed home.
We hunkered down well for the evening...or so we thought!
1/9/10 - SATURDAY - Woke up....everything seemed great! Critters looked a little cold..but we had running water in the house and it wasn't too cold in there as I'd bumped up the thermostat (it's normally chilly in our house, our friends bring sweaters and jackets when they come over) to take the chill out. Hubby hops in shower.....gets nice and soaped up and........tadahhhh the water stops. *insert obscenities here* YEP....so, we didn't put a light on our outside pipes (but we did insulate/tape them up) So...once the water got (I don't know how it works) to the right spot it froze outside...keeping it from coming inside! YUCKY!!
SO...we went on about our day and figured it would warm up...but we'd hunt for a light to clip on it anyway.
Made appointments @ hair place the night before...arrived on time....to find the person who had an appointment 1/2 hour before us just getting started. Lori apologized for being late and said we could wait or come back. Having to be in Richmond by 1...I opted to stay. At least DH could get his hair cut (has to keep it short for school) and I could re-schedule. Which is what happened. 45 mins AFTER our appointment time she got to Robert. GRRRRRR.
Moving on.....got doggie food and a a light for the water pipes....
Took stuff home...rigged up light for pipes and headed to Richmond....
Took care of our clients up there and headed home.
Stopped at HEB for last minute necessities for dinner and raced home to start supper while boys feed horses and dogs.
Dinner was GREAT! Mexican Soup....I post recipe later!

1/10/10 - SUNDAY - Slept in...till 7:45 (not really sleeping in but to me it is) and drug my butt outta bed. DH got up too, and we showered and dressed and started taking care of critters. I'd asked DH to make breakfast the night before and he said ok. YEAH, he fed critters and I got stuck making breakfast.
GRRRRRRRR - Spent day cooking, cleaning, laundry-ing.......and played with new laptop some.....
DH and T went to town and got pipe we bought right before Christmas. They also lugged home 3 round bales for the STARVING (LOL) horses.
I made LATE lunch/early dinner - tacos.
DH and T fed, AGAIN and before I knew it it was bed time....YIKES. Where does time go?

1/11/10 - MONDAY - have I mentioned how I hate Monday's? I don't like Monday! It's the start of the week...back to the grind...YUCK!
Still CHILLY!!! but warming up today! YAY!
Work is ok.....a bit bored.

November 17th, no way!

I can't not believe I have not made a post since NOVEMBER 17th! I new it had been a while, but oh my gosh!

Life has been a bit hectic lately.

Between Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years.....I've hardly had the chance to slow down!

So, I figured I'd take a few minutes to bring everyone up to speed.

The day before Thanksgiving was spent at the beach with my Husband's Grandparents. Good food!!

We then had Thanksgiving dinner at our house. YES, our house. My FIRST Thanksgiving dinner.....ever. AND....there were RAVE reviews. I'd never cooked a Turkey before, EVER. So, I was a bit worried. I mean, the TURKEY is it, the end all and be all of Thanksgiving meal and if you mess up the Turkey, there goes dinner.
I found a kick ass recipe in...well..I can't find it online but will bring it to work and post it here for everyone to enjoy.
The turkey was a huge success, the entire meal was a hit. We were surrounded by good friends and good food, it was nice.....we were just missing a very good friend this year.

Moving right along it seemed like there was no time between Christmas and new years.

I took the Calhoun County 4-H Horse Judging Team, and the Victoria County 4-H Horse Judging Team to a Judging Contest in Rosenberg, Texas on 12/12/09. The kiddos had a great time! It was the first outing for some.......8th or 10th for others....good time had by all, with some of the kiddos bringing home ribbons :)

Then it was Christmas time.....had a few days off work...that was nice!
Christmas eve spent with friends....Christmas day spent with in-law's....day after Christmas spent @ NELSON TRAINING CENTER riding my HORSE CASPER!! YES, I got to ride! YAY!
Cas is awesome! This is a whole post of it's own....I won't spoil it here.

New Year's.....again....a couple more days off work...YAY!
New Year's eve was spent just me and my hubby and the critters. We'd invited friends over...who declined due to 'amature night'.....and some other friends just plain didn't show up...

Now we are well into January and......COLD FRONT!
It's supposed to be MUCHO CHILLY here for the next few days, just a few days, then WARM again......here's the forecast....

Ohhhh and my GOOD FRIEND JEN got accepted to be on JULIE GOODNIGHT!! HOW FREAKIN AWESOME IS THAT!!!
